It sure seems like more

6 months into our marriage, the big news is the BIG addition to our family. And, it’s a Kitchen Aid.

Both of us have always wanted a Kitchen Aid mixer and thanks to our family and friends, another dream came true. Our mixer has been christened by both bread and cake. We’ve posted some photos on the Picasa site of Yeni in action.

Fred is speaking at Astricon

His talk is titled: “Asterisk Applications – Unexpected Hurdles”

With Asterisk AGI programming, almost anything is possible. From phone based payment systems to providing real-time information, Asterisk makes it possible to bring information to anyone with a phone. Sometimes, even the simplest applications can have unexpected consequences. Building a real-time Parking Garage availability application in Ann Arbor, Michigan was met with great appreciation by residents but blocked by government who didn’t understand how Asterisk gathered data — interpreting it instead as a Security risk. The talk would explain that when building even the simplest public application, the designers should be familiar with public access laws and be able to articulate how their application gathers data. Freedom of Information will also be discussed.

How do you celebrate three months together? You do it in a car, driving 2,000 + miles in 3 days. You don’t get to spend more time together than a road trip on I-75.

Highlights included:

• Saying hello to monkey
• “Visiting” many a cracker barrel (visiting is using the facilities)
• Meeting Michael Anthony and visiting his store (take his advice, eat more cake!)
• Eating Kentucky Fried Chicken in… Kentucky
